I have been apart of this community for many years, working tirelessly to make it a better place.
Here is a quick background about me. I have been here since 1986, I was a tiny 4 year old when my parents brought us here. My parents met at Sam Houston University and went onto Rice University. My father graduated with a PhD in Atomic Physics and has owned a business here in Austin for 20+ years. My mother currently homeschools my daughter, they are two peas in a pod! I have a twin brother, who currently lives in Denver. I was a public school kid growing up near the 360 bridge, I went to Hill Elementary and Kealing. I went onto culinary school in New York at The Culinary Institute of America in 2001, upon graduating from Anderson High School. I was an executive chef in NYC and here in Austin, before starting my own catering company in 2018, 512 Boutique Events. During my time in Austin, I have always given back to people and non-profits with my skills in business. Whether it be taking someone under my wing and teaching them business skills of an entrepreneur, providing events to non-profits through donations or at cost, or taking someone in my home to provide a roof over their head while going through a rough time.
My business made it through the dreadful 2020 storm, and it made me a lot more knowledgeable person because of it. This is why I'm now starting my journey to make Austin a better place for everyone. A city's responsibility is to make sure citizens are safe, provide working infrastructure such as water and transportation, and to make sure specific ordinances are in place to better community needs. Some of you may know me through the campaign efforts to Recall Mayor Adler, some of you may know me through business interactions, and some may know me by being in the community for so long.
Our community needs to feel safe, you need to know how your tax dollars are being spent with transparency, you need to know that your water and electricity will work efficiently, and you need to be able to know you will be able to afford to stay in the city you've called home for the last 20 years. This is not a Democrat and Republican issue, this is common sense that effects ALL OF US. These past 3 years, Austin City Council and Mayor have spiraled the city out of control. We are in urgent need of city officials who care about our every day lives, and not ones who want to spend millions on projects with no return.
